One day the sun took a Crow woman to be his wife. Occasionally he would leave the sky and live with her for awhile. Once, while he was gone, another man abused his wife. When the sun came back, she told him what had happened and then took her own life. The sun was so angry, he decided to destroy the Crow Nation. He caused all of their food sources to fail and they were forced to wander to look for food. A servent of the sun, White Wolf, took pity on them and told them how to bring the buffalo back. They did as they were told and after that, meat from the buffalo and robes from their fur were plentiful again.
